Acrostic poem

I am learning how to write an acrostic poem.  I know that I start each sentence with a letter of the subject.  I wrote about myself. 

" I can do much longer stories since the start of the year. I can do finger spaces very, very well. I can spell most of the words." Ruby

Bird pillow

For our Art Exhibition this year we learnt how to sketch a bird.  The final drawing was transferred onto calico and dye was added.  The bird was glued onto a pillow that Mrs Scott and Mrs Worsfold had sewn.  Don't they look great!

I am learning to write a recount.

I am learning to sound out 3 letter words.

I am learning to say the first, middle and last sound in a word and then blend the sounds together to write the word.  This can help me in my reading and my writing.

"I can read and write more than 4 sounds in a word.   I can read with character voices. " said Ruby

I am learning to know groupings within 20

I am learning to know how many more there are to 20.  This knowledge will help me image in my head.

"I can add to 20 by counting on from the biggest number in my head. " said Ruby

Mrs Worsfold," How lucky to have your Nana come in to see your work. You did a great job as the teacher, showing Nana what you have been busy doing this year."

We are learning to write for an audience and publish quality work to share.
